The club is often asked how we spend your rego fees. The pictures below show the breakdown. Like many, COVID is having an impact on our finances and we will run at a loss this year, thankfully good management by previous committees allows us to maintain our services to players this year and well into the future.
The Sylvania Heights Football Club (SHFC) is part of the Sylvania Heights Community & Youth Club (SHCYC). We are thrilled to announce that SHCYC has been awarded a $1.8m grant from the NSW Government to undertake a significant renovation of Box Road Reserve.
The grant has been awarded under the Greater Sydney Sports Facility Fund and will form part of a $2.2m overall investment with the balance of funds being contributed by Sutherland Shire Council together with contributions from Cricket NSW and SHCYC.
“The project will transform Box Road Reserve into a modern high-quality sporting facility by fully upgrading our playing fields and floodlighting as well as improving the surrounding pathways and spectator viewing experience. It will also deliver an increase in the tree canopy across the reserve.” said Trent Jordan, President of SHCYC.
‘I particularly want to thank SHCYC’s sponsorship and grants committee member, Chris Plakias, who was the driving force behind our submissions and engagement with various local and state sporting bodies” he added.
Mr Jordan said “A tremendous amount of effort went into preparing our business case and we received widespread support from Sutherland Shire Council, Cricket NSW, Sutherland PSSA, Football NSW and the Sutherland Shire Football Association.”
“This announcement supports SHCYC’s longstanding commitment to meeting the recreational needs of the whole community. We want to particularly thank the NSW Government, Office of Sport and our local MP Eleni Petinos for recognising the important role played by community organisations such as SHCYC.”
