About Our club
The Club was formed officially in 1956 by a group of people who had been playing cricket together for several years in the area.
Football became an official sporting activity of the Club in 1958 using the name Sylvania Heights Sports Club before adopting the name Sylvania Heights Community & Youth Club – Soccer Club in 1974, which it used for many years.
The current name Sylvania Heights Football Club was adopted on 2013, as was a fresh Club badge which pays homage to the Club’s nickname – the “Trees”!
In the beginning, matches were played on the oval at Canberra Road. As the area developed and the Club grew, fields were developed on the current site in Box Road, Sylvania Heights, where we have 4 fields and amenities block.
From six (6) teams in 1959, the Club generally fields fifty (50) teams most years. The Club has continued to grow thanks to the dedication of many parents who contribute many volunteer hours in all types of weather to make it the successful club that it is today.
Many Sylvania players have represented Sutherland Shire at both junior and senior levels.
